Finally after 2 long years we have not only the approved Pendarves Woodland Management Plan from the Forestry Commission but also the felling licences. We are so happy. We would also like to give an amazing clap of hands for Dan Ealdwood our Forestry Agent who has been so patient to get us through the process. We can now actually start to legally remove the invasive species and start to work out and timings of the replanting. To top it all the sun has also come out to play.
Well for all the dog walkers it was a rather blustery weekend and very overcast. However, the birds were having a great time whirling overhead using the wind to get lots of lift. Most of the baby birds have fledged so it is getting very busy in Pendarves. We spotted the Tree Creepers were back but only saw one of the pair a rare treat though. Taka and Loui went out disguised as trees (not very well) and spent Sunday pouncing around in the wind chasing leaves. More of an Autum
Well here I am fiddling with the computer when I would much rather be outside chopping back the Laurel. However it is nice that it is not raining today. Woke up to the post election day with the birds in full chorus, (they did not vote) our local birds do not engage in politics thank goodness else we would never get any sleep . . they are noisy enough now. Hopefully will have the full website up soon :) (she says) . Good news is that one of our new volunteers is coming down
