The Pendarves Estate Woodland Management Plan has been developed in Partnership with the Forestry Commission. There is substantial work that needs to be carried out.  The removal of invasive species such as Rhododendron and Cherry Laural which has run rampant on the estate is a priority. It takes 30 years for cherry laurel to grow 10 foot and the estate has laurel that is over 70 feet high. This indicates the neglect that the Estate has suffered over the past 100 years. We are determined to put the estate back into good repair and ensure that we restock with trees that reflect the geographical area whilst ensuring that stock can provide for habitat restoration.

Our foresight and determination will guarantee that our future generations can enjoy a mature native woodland that is self-sustaining.
